2009 Giant TCR Advanced SL 0 Road Bike. Giant is the pioneer in ISP (integrated seat pillar) design. Being handcrafted, (using computer generated design concepts and the ultimate composite material) the new Advanced frame creates a new benchmark for composite frame design, this bike is the ultimate combination of stiffness and lightweight, yet it retains a superb ride quality. Giant has 20 years of composite frame making experience and it shows! This is the lightest frame Giant makes, yet it has unprecedented pedalling stiffness, and a superb ride quality, so that long training rides are a pleasure. The bike simply feels like it wants to “go”. It has an incredible ability to transfer all the power you put into the pedals to the wheels, and speaking of wheels, it is fitted with a Mavic Ksyrium SL Premium wheelset, a strong, light pair of wheels, that enhance the acceleration and “feel” of the bike. Equipped with a Dura Ace group set, Raceface Revolution bars and stem, Vittoria Diamonte Pro Light tyres and Fi’zi:k Arione saddle. This is truly a bike you will love to ride!
2009 Giant TCR Advanced 0 Road Bicycle. With over 20 years experience in composite frame building, Giant is a market leader. This years frame saves a massive 230 gm, yet has a huge gain in stiffness over last year’s composite frames. This frame is one of the strongest and lightest on the market, all at an affordable price. This bike needs to be ridden to be appreciated. The bike feels great, it accelerates, climbs and corners in a manner that makes the rider feel totally in control, that his pedalling force is being transferred in a manner never achieved before, and it is true! This magnificent frame is then fitted with a Dura Ace group set, Mavic Ksyrium SL wheelset, and FSA bars and stem.Â
2009 Giant TCR Alliance 1. This racing bike again provides the superior features of both aluminium and carbon fibre. Designed to deliver a true race bike at a ridiculously low price. Equipped with Shimano Ultegra 20 speed, matched with Mavic Aksium road wheels and Race face road bars and stem, it is amazing value, and ready to race or simply keep up with the others.

The Giant Tcr Alliance 2 is ideal for anyone wanting a quality bike, but without spending over $3,000. The frame is where it gets the alliance name, it is a combination of carbon fibre, to give the comfort and shock absorbing qualities, together with aluminium, which has great stiffness with light weight. Together Giant have been able to create a frame at a ridiculously low price that performs competitively, yet is comfortable to ride. The Shimano 105 group fitted to the bike ensures smooth, precise gear changing, great stopping power and minimal maintenance. The saddle, handlebars, stem and seat pillar are all light and high quality. It comes with a Shimano RS-10 wheel-set and clipless pedals. Â
2010 GIANT TCR ADVANCED SL 0 -
This bike is built to win!
Advanced Composite Technology was developed to achieve the ultimate balance between stiffness, lightweight and ride quality. Every Advanced Composite bicycle begins life in Giant’s C-Tech factory as bare carbon thread on the reel and ends up as an entirely hand-made frame constructed of strategically layered, uni-directional carbon. This means Giant has 100% quality control over the entire process from testing to engineering, lay-up and assembly. Giant has been the leader in composite technology for over 20 years, and with this experience they are at the forefront of composite technology.
What does this mean for you? Well, no other bike compares in terms of lightweight, pedalling stiffness and compliance. The bike simply feels great. It accelerates brilliantly. The hill climbing ability is unmatched. The stiffness gives the rider the confidence of total control, through the excellent feel that a bike has when it responds to the slightest rider input. The integrated seat post frame design not only has aerodynamic and weight benefits, but more importantly is stiffer and actually improves the ride characteristics (more forgiving, so it’s easier on you).
The frame is designed with massive rectangular top and down tubes to create what is called Megadrive. They combine to create a frame unsurpassed in front end lateral and torsional stiffness, together with unprecedented pedalling stiffness. What does this mean to us, simply the quickest accelerating, best handling road bike ever produced by Giant. The unprecedented pedalling stiffness is also due in part to the “Powercore” integrated bottom bracket. This 86 millimetre wide bottom bracket is given additional support by the asymmetrical chainstays, which tie the bottom bracket to the rear of the frame. When all these features are combined the product is a bike fully capable of race performance, yet able to be ridden by us mere humans.
Of course the equipment on this bike is of the best available. It has a Zipp 404 ZedTech wheel set, with Shimano Dura Ace Di2 electronic gear shifting, for the absolute fastest, precise gear changes. The Dura Ace brakes are excellent, they stop brilliantly, but what else would you expect at this level? The Giant SLR composite components weigh next to nothing  and look great, with colour matching finishing touches.
What a bike…..

2010 GIANT TCR ADVANCED SL RABOBANK -
A great looking bike!
On the more practical side, there is no other bike in the world that can better this bike for lightweight, pedalling stiffness and compliance. Big claim eh!
Why is it so good? Well, the advanced composite technology was developed to achieve the ultimate balance between stiffness, lightweight and ride quality. Every advanced composite bicycle begins life in the Giant factory as bare carbon thread and ends up as an entirely hand-made frame constructed of strategically layered uni-directional carbon. This means that they have 100% quality control over the whole process from testing to engineering, lay-up and assembly. Giant developed this technology over 20 years ago and has been the leader in carbon technology since. Giant is the pioneer in Integrated Seat Pillar technology, which maximises stiffness and lightweight.
Then to top it all off, the bike is fitted with a Dura-Ace ensemble, including Dura-Ace wheel set, composite bars and stem, Vittoria Corsa Evo slick tyres, etc, etc…..
Simply outstanding!

2010 GIANT TCR ADVANCED 1 -
The TCR Advanced 1 uses the Total Compact Road frame geometry which gives you an ultra-lightweight, ultra-responsive, laterally rigid frame that has great handling and efficiently transfers your power.
Even 13 years after Giant introduced this technology, the compact road geometry remains one of the most ground breaking innovations in modern road bike manufacture, and has been followed by every major manufacturer world-wide. It climbs hills really well and it is so light and fast, it is almost unbelievable. I know this sounds like sales-talk but if you come in and test ride ride one of these bikes you will find out for yourself that this really is an amazing bike. How does the Total Compact Road geometry work? Well, it has an increased slope on the top tube, shorter rear triangle and seat tube, with shorter rear stays. The main triangle is made of larger diameter, thin wall tubing. The net result of these changes cuts down the weight as less material is required. The performance is increased because the power transmission is more direct, and the handling is improved with the greater rigidity. The Shimano Ultegra group set is a lightweight and efficient package which makes “pro-level” technology more accessible to part time racers and fitness enthusiasts. Its easy to use, it looks good and it performs really well. The smooth changing makes riding this such a pleasure, it really feels like a much more expensive bicycle. The Mavic Ksyrium Elite wheels are strong and light and because of the rotational forces the weight saving makes a considerable difference to performance.
The bikes are available in a variety of sizes. Men’s bikes are usually small to x large, ladies bikes are x small to medium generally. Giant back up their frames with a lifetime warranty to ensure you have a bike that you simply love riding and if it goes wrong, you know you’re protected.

2010 GIANT TCR ALLIANCE 0 -
While the TCR Advanced SL is an amazing bike, it does not fit the budget of many of us, such a shame!
This is where the TCRÂ Alliance comes in. It is built with a combination of carbon and aluminium, and manages to combine most of the benefits of each. The upper section (rider support area) is made of carbon fibre and provides a comfortable ride without the expense of a full carbon fibre frame. The lower section handles all the power transmission at a much lower cost than a full carbon frame. The combination works! The end result is an inexpensive bike that performs really well, yet is comfortable to ride, as the carbon absorbs a great deal of the road vibrations. These are normally transmitted direct into the riders body, causing fatigue and reducing the sheer pleasure that you will feel on a really good carbon bike.
The performance of this bike is a real eye opener. The low price belies its capabilities and outright performance. This bike is quite competitive and while it is no TCR Advanced SL it certainly will improve the average riders performance. The bike has a snappy, responsive feel, it accelerates rapidly out of the corners and climbs really well. It is actually a pleasure to ride, which is pretty impressive at such a generally low price point. If you suffer from back or neck pain, the Defy range is going to be more suitable. If you want a good looking, fast , light bike you should probably test ride one of these, and compare it with the opposition. They will have to come up with a brilliant bike to beat this.

2010 GIANT TCR ALLIANCE 1 -
Riders of this bike may well be surprised at just how well it rides compared to many other bikes in this price range. The TCR geometry combined with the qualities of the Alliance construction guarantees an enjoyable ride, Equipped with Shimano 105 gears and crankset, one of the most popular Shimano group sets, it provides reliable gear changing, efficient braking and operates smoothly and reliably. It is fitted with Mavic Aksium wheels, which are robust, look great and improve performance. Shimano clipless pedals which carry the same 2 year warranty as the other Shimano components, complete this great package.
The bike is fitted with lightweight bars, stem and seat pillar and a comfortable Fi’zi:k saddle.
2010 Giant TCR 0 Road Bike -
Almost a step back in time. Almost! But a thoroughly modern bike that has excited this writer and rider more than most other bikes that have hit the market for a long time. Such performance for such a low price is staggering. The frame is aluminium, but so much lighter and stiffer than anything similar that has gone before. Sure, it won’t be as comfortable as some of its carbon fibre stablemates. Hydroformed lightweight aluminium is the key, resulting in a super light, super stiff frame which has performance characteristics that most racers would find appealing. Coupled to a carbon fibre fork which will soften the ride a little, this is a bike which will be as fast as it looks. As value for money it can’t be beat, and as a performance bike you could expect few others to compare.
The Giant Tcr 0 is fitted with the latest Shimano Ultegra group set, which is readily identified by the gear cables now being neatly concealed under the handlebar tape. With Mavic wheels this bike is ready to race and won’t disappoint anyone who’s prime objective is speed. While the slightly harsher ride may not suit those of us over 50, if you want a great race bike without spending the $4,000 or $5000 or more normally expected, then this is the bike for you. A ready to race, seriously good bike for new cyclists.

2010 Giant TCR 1 Road Bike -
What a bike! The Giant Tcr 1 is incredible value, where else can you get a race standard bike at around $2,000.
With a Shimano 105 group, Shimano wheels, lightweight bars, stem and frame this bike is actually of a standard that will give many a race bike a run for it’s money. The bike not only performs well, but it looks great. Excuse me if I seem to be rambling, but this bike is such great value. If you are relatively new to cycling and are unsure what use the bike will get, and how much you can justify spending, this bike really will suit the purpose. As I stated earlier, the bike would be competitive if you choose to try your hand at racing. If recreational cycling is more your thing it will be ideal for keeping up with the mates, and if you are off wanting to improve your fitness, well it will fit the bill.
There doesn’t appear to be any shortcuts on the bike. It comes with a Fi’zik saddle, lightweight bars and stem in oversize diameter to ensure minimal flex. It comes with Shimano clipless pedals and good quality tyres. All you need are shoes, helmet and gloves, and you are ready to go.
2009 Giant Defy Advanced 0 –
This is a bike that most of us should ride. If you want to simply ride to get fit, enjoy riding with your friends, or maybe get out on your own just for a break, but like quality, this bike would probably appeal to you.
It is similar to a race bike, but slightly altered to reduce the inclination towards racing, and change the emphasis slightly towards comfort and controllability on the road and in traffic. The frame allows a slightly more upright riding position than the equivalent TCR, has slightly different steering geometry and longer wheelbase. The total package is considerably more comfortable, with very similar performance capabilities. You are likely to simply love riding this bike, and unless you are racing, the changes are likely to be all beneficial (even then it would make a very appealing training bike). The gearing has been adjusted to suit a wider range of riding conditions, so when you come across that steep incline, it will be easily negotiated. The bike comes equipped with a full Dura Ace ensemble and Mavic Ksyrium Premium wheels. This bike is perfect for training whether it be around the city, or on country roads.
2009 Giant Defy Advanced 1. Advanced refers to the grade of materials, together with the advanced manufacturing techniques used to create the frame. Carbon fibre frames can be designed and built to deliver superior stiffness, comfort (vibration absorption and “softness”) or light weight. The Defy is a perfect blend of light weight, stiffness and ride quality. This cannot be achieved with the cheaper materials and manufacturing processes. Combined with the Defy’s “endurance geometry” you end up with a bike that will still feel comfortable, even after 50-100 kms in the saddle (ideal for those of us out of our “teens”). Fitted with a Shimano Ultegra SL 10 speed group, Mavic Ksyrium Elite wheels, Raceface Revolution bars and stem and a Fi’zi:k Pave saddle it is a light, comfortable bicycle capable of delivering excellent performance.

2009 Giant Defy Alliance Sport.
Giant’s new Defy Alliance Sport offers the benefits of aluminium (light-weight and stiff), together with the advantages of carbon fibre. It provides a bike that can absorb road shock, yet remain rigid and is light-weight, all at a fraction of the cost of a full carbon fibre bike. Fitted with Shimano Tiagra 18 speed gears, Shimano cranks and hubs with Alex rims, it will deliver years of comfortable recreational riding.
2010 GIANT DEFY ADVANCED 1 -
Giant have produced a bike that is ideal for those of us that want a great bike, but have no plan to race. Equipped with Shimano’s latest Ultegra groupset and Mavic Ksyrium Elite wheels this is a remarkably well spec’d bike at a mid range price. Ideally suited to the serious recreational rider, the Defy Advanced 1 will give many years of satisfaction for Beach Road riders, ’Round the Bay in a Day’ers and anyone interested in speed with comfort. In other words it is an ideal training or recreational bike, where one can spend longer periods in the saddle than the equivalent TCR bikes, with less discomfort  for those of us so affected.

2010 GIANT DEFY ADVANCED 2 -
The years have proven the success of the OCR range of bikes. Giant has refined the concept even further into the current Defy range of bikes. With rider comfort as a priority, the Defy frame geometry allows for a more upright position than is available on purely competition bikes. This more relaxed position results in less back and neck fatigue, easier handling and a less harsh ride, benefiting the regular long distance rider and the casual Sunday rider alike. We will all have heard of the saying “Built for comfort, not for speed”, well this doesn’t exactly apply to the Defy range. They are certainly comfortable, but are also as swift as most bikes on the market, but if you are intending to pin on a race number, then have a look at something from the TCR range from Giant.
2010 GIANT DEFY ALLIANCE 0 -
The Defy Alliance 0 has a completely redesigned frame for 2010. It incorporates features that are de rigueur on the performance TCR range. These being the OverDrive steerer tube making the steering more responsive and precise and the PowerCore bottom bracket. This feature incorporates the outboard bearings in a press-fit design so the frame encases these. This equates into a stiffer pedalling platform which results in a more responsive, explosive performance.
The Alliance name calls attention to Giant’s excellent ability to combine carbon and aluminium which gives you the benefits of the comfort which carbon offers as well as the residual stiffness of aluminium through the bottom half of the frame. The geometry of this frame gives one a more relaxed riding position which is derived from a longer wheelbase increasing the stability, a slacker steering angle which slows the steering down a touch and reduces the distance from the seat to the handlebars slightly increasing the riders height on the bike reducing stress across the shoulders, back and legs.
This design of the Defy Alliance 0 makes it perfect for those riders getting back into riding, maybe not quite as supple as one once was or those wanting to churn out the k’s without the fatigue that can be associated with more aggressive frame designs. The bike is fitted with the ever reliable 105 group set from Shimano combined with the R600 series compact cranks giving you great range for the hills etc.,
Giant’s own Connect SL range of components including a carbon seat post, Fi’zi:k saddle and the excellent Mavic Aksium wheel set. The tyres are 25mm Vittorias which give some extra comfort too! This year Giant have gone that little bit further too with little touches such as colour-coded anodized derailleur hangers, saddle trims and top-cap on the head stem which finish this bike off quite nicely.

2010 GIANT DEFY ALLIANCE 1 -
The new frame design for the 2010 Giant Defy Alliance Sport increases this formidable package to new levels of stiffness, compliance and suppleness. The new design incorporates an oversized headtube with tapered bearings so the steering is more under your control with greater stability and directness.
The top tube, seat stays and inner seat post use Giant’s renowned composite lay-up and is melded with their own specification of aluminium from the downtube, chainstays and outer seatpost tube.
The whole frame being redesigned brings new levels of weight reduction, stiffness and comfort to the Defy Alliance Sport. Incorporating Shimano’s 18 speed Tiagra derailleur and shifters combined with Sora outboard compact cranks (external bearings meaning smoother more efficient pedalling; less crank flex) and brakes gives the Defy Alliance Sport a competitive edge without the price tag! This bike has a very smooth, supple ride with great dampening of vibrations and bump transfer.
It is fitted with Giant’s own Connect SL components including a carbon seat post and an excellent set of Shimano R500Â wheels fitted with high quality Vittoria tyres.
2010 GIANT DEFY 1 -
What a great bike for under $1500! With the fantastic ALUXX SL frame, carbon forks, Shimano Tiagra 18 speed gears and Shimano brakes, wheels and pedals the Defy 1 is an ideal bike for someone getting into road riding or perhaps stepping up from their first bike. Also useful as a daily commuter, light tourer or a Round the Bay in a Day type bike, the Defy 1 can handle it all. The Shimano Tiagra works well, and will last the average recreational rider for many years. While it may not be suitable for racing with the increased stress being placed on the componentry, this componentry is ideal for someone setting out to get fit or go training.
What is the difference between a Defy and a TCR? The Defy is designed more for a rider who has no desire to race at this stage, but is more interested in a fast light bike to get fit, or simply for recreation. With rider comfort as a priority, the frame geometry allows for a more upright position than is available on purely competition bikes. 2010 GIANT DEFY 2 -
With the fantastic ALUXX SL frame, carbon forks, Shimano Sora 27 speed gears and Shimano brakes and pedals the Defy 2 is ideal for someone getting into road riding for the first time or who is trading up from an older bike. Also useful as a daily commuter, light tourer or a Round the Bay in a Day type bike, the Defy 1 can handle it all.
[on the Defy range] Following many years of success with their range of OCR model bikes, Giant has refined the concept even further into the current Defy range of bikes. At the same time expanding the range available to an amazing 10 models which includes the women’s specific Avail models.
With rider comfort as a priority, the frame geometry allows for a more upright position than is available on purely competition bikes. This more relaxed position results in less back and neck fatigue, easier handling and less harsh ride, benefiting the regular long distance rider and the casual Sunday rider alike.

2010 GIANT DEFY 3 -
With the fantastic ALUXX SL frame, carbon forks, Shimano 24 speed gears and Tektro brakes the Defy 3 is an ideal 1st road bike for someone giving it a try after having a mountain bike, or someone not wanting to spend a fortune because they just want to “give road riding a try” to see if they like it. A great bike to gain an introduction to road riding on and also useful as a daily commuter, light tourer or a Round the Bay in a Day type bike, the Defy 3 can handle it all. Comfortable riding position, triple chain rings for that invaluable “granny gear” , and a full size range to suit riders of every build means this bike may be even more popular than its OCR predecessor..

2010 GIANT TRINITY ADVANCED SL 0 -
The Trinity Advanced SL 0 has already proven itself, and earned the name of “the worlds fastest bike”.
This is the most advanced bicycle ever built to race against the clock. Equally adept at triathlons or time trials, the all-new composite Trinity Advanced SLÂ features every aero advantage including the AeroDrive stem/handlebar combination and aero tubing. It’s stiff, light and infinitely adjustable for the perfect fit.
How does this help you? There is no other bike that compares in terms of aerodynamics, and with the Advanced SL frame, the power transfer capabilities are the best available. No small claim is it……The proof is written in history. It has won the Time Trial World championships, then further developed using wind tunnel tests to make it the worlds fastest production bike. It is now within the reach of Pro athletes.
The Zipp 808/1080 wheel-set is an ideal match for this bike, cutting down resistance to the absolute minimum. The Dura Ace Di2 electronic shifters will give precise gear changing while in the ideal aerodynamic riding position (shift buttons on brake levers and aero extensions). The seat pillar is highly aerodynamic of course, and full composite to maximise the power transmission due to absolute minimum fore-aft movement, together with lateral stiffness.

2010 GIANT TRAINITY ADVANCED SL 1 -
Not only is the frame aero shaped, but every component has been designed or placed to further reduce air flow interruption
The wheels are of course the renowned Zipp 808′s ultra fast in themselves, then fitted with Vittoria Crono Eva Singles to absolutely minimize rolling resistance. Shimano Dura Ace is used for the running gear with a special brake set, designed to effectively stop the bike but remain virtually invisible, while minimizing air flow interruption.
This bike is unbelievably fast, yet it will probably turn more heads than other much more expensive competitors.
Aerodynamic Benefits:
The ultra-aerodynamic and incredibly stiff “AeroDrive” control centre allows the rider to slice through the wind, but also allows rapid, controlled cornering. It can be tuned to the individual rider’s requirements.
Virtually everything on the bike has the aerodynamic benefits as the leading criteria. The brakes are behind the frame, the seat pillar mounting is internal to reduce drag, the rims, the riding position obviously, etc, etc
2010 GIANT TRINITY ADVANCED SL 2 -
World’s Fastest Bike
At the 2008 Time Trial world Championships this bike earned the nickname of “the worlds fastest bike”.
At that time it was just a prototype, a radical wind-cheating bike that shattered the existing notions of aerodynamic limitations. It is now available as an awesome production bike.
Wind tunnel tests have confirmed that the Trinity is the leader in aerodynamics. Not only is the frame aero shaped, but even the seat pillar, with an internal clamping system to further reduce drag.
The wheels are of course aero with minimum drag and Pro Race tyres to minimize rolling resistance.
Shimano Ultegra is used for the running gear with a special brake set, designed to effectively stop the bike but remain vertually invisible, while minimizing air flow interruption.
It will probably turn more heads than other much more expensive competitors.

2009 GIANT BOWERY -
Giant Bowery Single Speed. Want a single speed, but dont have a lot of money. The Giant single speed comes fully equipped with a frame designed for single speed. If you bought the components alone it would cost way more than this complete bike.
